Emma is getting so big now. She is finally fitting her newborn clothes (no more preemies) and has started to smile, although be it rare. She loves to stare at my black and white pictures on the wall and at papa’s face.

But for the most part, she fills her day with either sleeping or nursing- not much inbetween.

I am slightly concerned about what looks like Exotropia (or one eye turned out) but we will watch this and evaluate it at her next appointment. We don’t have a family history of this so, much is in our favor at the moment.

So yesterday I went to the midwife and I was 2+ centimeters dilated and really thinned out.

I’ve been having false labor for most of the day, which means hard contractions but very far apart and not consistant. Tonight it’s been worse and I literally cannot sleep.

I knew better but ate spaghetti anyway at about midnight so now my body ISN’T digesting and instead is churning threatening to rot any food in my stomach. at 3am, Im mentally tired and physically ill.

I called L&D at OHSU and at least I know the waterbirth room isnt taken and they arent packed! Still I wish these contractions would start becoming consistant and things would progress already instead of keeping me in limbo.

For now, Im trying to pretend I’m not pregnant for a little while so I can go back to sleep.

Jay snuck downstairs a good hour ago or so to sleep on the couch- not sure if he wanted to give me more space on the bed of its just cooler down there since I’m a heater… but I am tempted to just disinfect my bathroom until I am sleepy enough to go back to bed.

Here is a great website on information about labor and birthing. It has some wonderful info on false Labor.

I decided to put up this page for all my friends and family who need information when I do go into labor.

Everything from directions to the hospital, my room number, to the size of the baby and pictures/updates.

I am going to be delivering at OHSU Medical center (if everything goes as planned) in a planned waterbirth with a midwife and kids present. OSHU is a Science health university who holds the mother and baby in high regard, one of the reasons Im happy to deliver there! They also have a class III neonatal unit which is wonderful in case of a problem, but we aren’t foreseeing there will be one.

You can park in any patient parking area, but the best ways to get to Labor and Delivery are:
9 am – 10 pm: Use valet parking at the Emergency Dept. main entrance.
10 pm – 5 am: Park on the first floor of the Sam Jackson garage and enter through the Emergency Department.
5 am – 9 pm: Park in Kohler Pavilion. Take the elevator to the 9th floor and follow signs to OHSU Hospital/Admitting.

Jyn’s Room Number for Labor: 64 Floor 12C (503) 418-1216
Given the fact I’m being seen at OHSU , which is a health science university, they go all out on medical procedures and I had a 3D included.
